Andrew Strasser is a founding principal of Abacus Lodging Investors LLC, a private equity firm focused on investments in the hospitality industry. Mr. Strasser was most recently Executive Vice President and Principal of The Chartres Lodging Group, LLC where he was responsible for worldwide acquisitions and development. While at Chartres Lodging, Mr. Strasser led the acquisition and development of several billion dollars of value-add hotels throughout the United States and Japan. Mr. Strasser began his career as a Corporate Real Estate lawyer with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. He brings over 10 years of experience in the lodging sector, having held senior roles at Strategic Hotel Capital, Lend Lease Real Estate Investments and Hyatt Hotels Corporation. Mr. Strasser graduated from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, with distinction, and holds a JD/MBA, cum laude, from Northwestern University Law School and the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the Hospitality Leadership Program at DePaul University. Eva Wassermann, CHA is Executive Vice President of Abacus Lodging Investors LLC, a private equity firm focused on investments in the hospitality industry. Ms. Wassermann has been actively involved in the hospitality industry for over 25 years. Ms. Wassermann most recently was Principal of State Parkway Advisory, an investment and consulting platform providing both hotel acquisitions and asset management assistance exclusively to Goldman Sachs. She was involved in analyzing numerous portfolio acquisitions as well as providing asset management services to various portfolios exceeding $1.5 billion in value. Prior to that she served as the Vice President of Managed Development for Hilton Hotels where she was responsible for securing and negotiating management contracts for their full-service brands with particular focus on convention hotels utilizing private/public financing. Ms. Wassermann has also held senior management roles with Strategic Hotel Capital, the Yarmouth Group, Kenneth Leventhal & Co., and Laventhol & Horwath. Ms. Wassermann serves on the Advisory Board for The Collins College of Hospitality Management where she received her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Hospitality Management. She also serves on the President’s National Development Council for Cal Poly Pomona and serves as the Vice Chair, Foundation Giving, for Cal Poly Pomona's Comprehensive Campaign.
Barry A.N. Bloom is a founding principal of Abacus Lodging Investors LLC, a private equity firm focused on investments in the hospitality industry. Mr. Bloom was most recently Executive Vice President of Portfolio Management and Administration for CNL Hotels & Resorts, Inc. where he was responsible for oversight of the company's $6.6 billion portfolio including asset management, market analysis, management and franchise agreement negotiation, capital project management, real estate tax, and insurance functions. While at CNL Hotels, Mr. Bloom played a key role in the corporate acquisitions of RFS Hotel Investors, Inc. and KSL Recreation Corp. He brings over 20 years of experience in the lodging sector, having held senior roles at Hyatt Development Corporation, Tishman Hotel & Realty LP, VMS Realty Partners and Pannell Kerr Forster. Mr. Bloom graduated from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, with distinction, and holds an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Hospitality at Iowa State University and is an adjunct faculty member in the Hospitality Leadership Program at DePaul University.
Michael Palmeri is Vice President of Abacus Lodging Investors LLC, a private equity firm focused on investments in the hospitality industry. Mr. Palmeri was most recently Director of The Chartres Lodging Group, LLC where he played a key role in the acquisition of several billion dollars of underperforming lodging investments throughout the United States and the asset management activity of the company portfolio. Mr. Palmeri graduated with a concentration in investment finance from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University.
